Look the part in every inbox.

A gmail address on a quote tells a customer you are small. Your own name on your own domain tells them you are real. It is £3 a month for the difference.

The plans

Three sizes, and a free one.

Priced per mailbox, per year. The difference is storage, aliases and how big an attachment you can send. Everything else is in all of them.

PlanPer yearWorks out atWhat you get
Starter£36 a year£3 a month5 GB, 10 aliases, spam and virus filtering, forwarders and an out-of-office. Enough for a one-person trade.
Pro£72 a year£6 a month30 GB, 50 aliases, 100 MB attachments, and calendar and contacts that sync to your phone.
Ultimate£120 a year£10 a month70 GB, unlimited aliases, 200 MB attachments and priority support.
ConnectedFreeFreeKeep the Gmail or Outlook account you already have and read it in the Blinki inbox alongside everything else.

Every plan is one mailbox. Add as many as you need and they all land on the same invoice. There is no minimum and no setup fee.

What comes with it

The dull things, already done.

Mail is one of those things that either works or ruins your week. Most of what follows is the part that stops it ruining your week.

The mailbox itself

  • you@yourbusiness.co.uk on the domain you own
  • IMAP, POP and SMTP, so any mail app works
  • Webmail in the browser when you are on somebody else’s machine
  • Aliases, so sales@ and info@ land in the same place
  • Forwarders and an out-of-office reply

Kept out of the spam folder

  • SPF, DKIM and DMARC records written when the mailbox is created
  • Spam and virus scanning on from the first message
  • A dedicated sending reputation rather than a shared free-mail one
  • Nothing for you to paste into a DNS panel
  • If mail does start bouncing, UK support looks at the records for you

In the same place as everything else

  • Read it in the Blinki inbox next to your enquiries
  • Same login as the website, the domain and the number
  • One invoice for the lot
  • Calendar and contacts on Pro and Ultimate, synced by CalDAV and CardDAV
  • Add or remove a mailbox any month
Setting it up

Ten minutes, most of which is you choosing a name.

There is no DNS lesson in here. That is the point of buying it in the same place as the domain.

01

Pick the name

hello@, info@, your own first name. Whatever people will actually write to.

02

Pick a plan

Starter for one person, Pro if you want the calendar synced, Ultimate if you keep everything forever.

03

We write the records

The entries that prove the mail is really from you go on your domain automatically.

04

Open it anywhere

Sign in to the webmail, or put the settings into Outlook or Apple Mail. Both are on one screen in the portal.

Moving your old email

Your messages come with you.

This is the bit people put off for two years. It takes an afternoon and we do most of it. £39 covers up to three mailboxes, then £12 for each one after that.

01

Tell us where it is

Gmail, Outlook, an old host, a webmail nobody remembers signing up for. Any of them.

02

We copy it across

Messages and folder structure, moved over while the old one is still running. This is the part you are paying for, and it is done by a person, not a button.

03

We switch the delivery

Only once the copy is done. Nothing goes missing in the gap because there is no gap.

04

Old address still works

Keep it forwarding for as long as you like, so anyone using the old one still reaches you.

How we compare

Against the two things people usually do.

Most small businesses are either on a free gmail address or paying for a full office suite they use one tenth of.

Price per mailbox£3 to £10 a monthFreeUsually £6 to £14 a month

Worth knowing

Two honest points.

One in our favour and one not, because a page that only says the first is not worth reading.

A gmail address on a quote costs you work

It is the single most common thing on a small trade’s paperwork and the single easiest thing to fix. A customer comparing two quotes reads yourbusiness@gmail.com as a bloke with a van and hello@yourbusiness.co.uk as a business with a van.

It is the same van. It is £3 a month for the difference.

We do not do documents and spreadsheets

If you need the whole suite of shared documents, spreadsheets and video calls, this is not that. It is mail, calendar and contacts, done properly on your own name.

Plenty of people run both: the office suite for the documents, and their real address here. If that is you, the free Connected plan puts the other account in the same inbox anyway.

Questions

The things people ask us.

Including the ones about leaving, because a page that will not answer those is hiding something.

What does a mailbox cost?

£36 a year, which is £3 a month, for the Starter plan. Pro is £72 a year and Ultimate £120. That is per mailbox, and you can mix them, so the person who hoards attachments can be on Ultimate while everyone else is on Starter.

Do I need a domain first?

You need one, but it does not have to be bought here. Buy one with us from £12.99 a year and it is wired up automatically, or point one you already own at us and we will set the records.

Can I use Outlook or Apple Mail?

Yes. It is a standard IMAP, POP and SMTP mailbox, so every mail app works. The exact settings are on one screen in the portal, and support will read them out to you over the phone if you would rather.

Will my old emails come across?

Yes. Tell us where they are now and we copy the messages and the folder structure over before we switch the delivery, so nothing lands in the gap. It is £39 for up to three mailboxes and £12 for each one after that, because a person does it rather than a button.

What is an alias?

A second address that lands in the same mailbox. So info@, sales@ and accounts@ can all arrive in one place without paying for three mailboxes. Starter includes ten of them.

Why does my current email go to spam?

Almost always because the SPF, DKIM and DMARC records on the domain are missing or wrong. Those are the entries that let a receiving mail server check the message really came from you.

When a mailbox is created here, those records are written on your domain for you. If you are already having the problem on a domain you own elsewhere, send it to support and we will look at it whether or not you are a customer yet.

Do you read my email?

No. Support can only see your mail if you specifically ask them to look at something and give them access to do it.

How much storage do I get?

5 GB on Starter, 30 GB on Pro, 70 GB on Ultimate. If you are the sort who never deletes anything with an attachment, start on Pro. You can move up a plan later without changing your address.

Can I add mailboxes for staff later?

Yes, any month, and take them off again any month. Each one is priced on its own, so a second mailbox costs the same as the first.

What happens to my email if I leave?

Your domain is yours, so you point it at whoever you move to and the address keeps working. Download your mail over IMAP before you close the account, or ask support and we will help you export it.

Do you offer catch-all addresses?

Yes, though we would talk you out of it. A catch-all takes every message sent to anything@yourdomain, which in practice means it takes every piece of spam aimed at a guessed address. Aliases do the useful part without that.

Is there a contract?

Mailboxes are billed a year at a time because that is how they are priced. There is no minimum term beyond that year and no notice period to give.

Your name on every reply.

Set a mailbox up in a couple of minutes, on the same login and the same bill as everything else.
